WOLVES MR2 - Our Foundation Is There - Consistency Comes Next!

Our first game of our 2026 season had an ebb and flow of inconsistency. We started a step behind and found ourselves chasing the game early. When we settled in and moved the ball with purpose, we looked much more like the team we know we can be.

After our opponents scored their first goal on an unfortunate deflection, we didn't quit. As a group, we're still trying to find our footing. Some of that is to be expected with so many new players still getting used to each other and there was a lot of good play that we will build on.

The momentum shifted after we tied the game at 1–1, and for a significant stretch of the second half, I thought we were the better team.

Credit to Lynwood, they played a smart game that suited their strengths. We need to do a better job of imposing our own strengths, and that's something we'll continue to emphasize.

WOLVES MR4 - Another Step in the Journey!

Our third game together was another tough one, as we once again found ourselves playing 10 v 11. Things looked bleak when we went down 3-0, but our boys displayed an incredible character in the second half. Goals brought us back to 3-2 with just 10 minutes left, and a comeback looked very possible. Unfortunately, a clearance attempt took an unlucky deflection off an opposing player and found its way into our net, sealing a 4-2 defeat.

Despite the result, the mentality and fight shown by the team under difficult circumstances was something to be proud of.

A special shoutout to our 'Man of the Match', George Daniel, who scored the goal that sparked the comeback and put in a strong performance in midfield from start to finish.

MR3 WOLVES ALPHAS - FIRST LEG of the WOLVES Clásico!

The first leg of the highly anticipated 'Wolves Clásico' between our two MR3 sides certainly lived up to expectations. What was a fiercely contested match from start to finish that almost ended in dramatic fashion.

Both teams battled with pride, and the Wolves' spirit. Just when it looked like the deadlock might be broken in the dying moments, a desperate defensive intervention on the goal line by our Alphas denied what seemed like a certain winner and ensured the points were shared.

In the end, a 1–1 result felt like a fair reflection of a closely fought contest between two evenly matched Wolves squads. With the first leg now in the books, the stage is set for an exciting second chapter in this season's Wolves 'Dar-bee' rivalry.

It’s always a blast playing against another Wolves team in a local derby. The intensity was high from the opening whistle, and as expected, it turned into a hard-fought battle between two sides that never gave an inch. Despite plenty of chances and end-to-end action, we finished with a 1–1 draw. It's a result that felt fitting given how evenly matched the game was. A competitive match, great effort from everyone, and another memorable chapter in the Wolves-versus-Wolves rivalry. We’ll take the point and keep pushing forward.

WOLVES MR5 - A Step Forward!

Our Westboro Wolves traveled to face the Ottawa Jaguars on for an 8:30 p.m. KO under the lights, and for the first time this season and were able to field a full squad with real depth available from our bench.

This match got off to the worst possible start for our Wolves as an early defensive mistake allowed the Jaguars to take the lead. Rather than panic, our Wolves settled into the game and stuck to their style of football.

From that point on, our Wolves began to play the attractive, high-energy football that has become our trademark. The forwards pressed relentlessly from the front; the midfield covered every blade of grass, and the defense remained organized and disciplined throughout.

A major boost came from the return of goalkeeper Rashed AL-J., who missed the previous match. His communication and leadership from the back helped settle the defense, while several excellent saves ensured our Wolves stayed in this contest during the early stages.

The equalizer arrived following a superb attacking move. Our Scott Melvin and Cameron Hastings combined brilliantly, exchanging passes before Melvin calmly slotted home his first goal of the night to level the score at 1-1.

With confidence growing, our Wolves began to dominate possession and control the tempo of this match. Our players Altan Erman and Malcolm-McAllister were outstanding in midfield, breaking up play and driving the team forward, while Marcus DiPaolo, along with the rest of the midfield, worked tirelessly to support attacks and keep pressure on the Jaguars.

The Wolves’ second goal came from another flowing move. Melvin linked up well with Marcus before Altan, another debutant, made a perfectly timed run from midfield and coolly finishing and putting the Wolves ahead 2-1.

By now our Wolves were firmly in control. Their pressing game forced multiple mistakes from the Jaguars, and the back line continued to shut down attacks before they could develop.

The third goal once again came through the combination of Melvin and debutant, Cameron Hastings. Their movement and link-up play caused problems all evening, and Melvin finished confidently to grab his second goal of the match and extend the lead to 3-1.

Hastings then capped an excellent debut performance with a goal of his own. Chasing down what appeared to be a harmless long ball, he pressured the defender into an error, won possession, rounded the goalkeeper, and calmly slotted home to make it 4-1 and put the result beyond doubt. Our Wolves continued to create chances and maintain possession until the final whistle.

It was an impressive all-round team performance, with contributions from every player on the pitch. The work rate, organization, and attacking football on display showed exactly what this squad is capable of when at full strength.

WOLVES OT2 - Déjà Vu? Not This Time!

After a disappointing 4-0 loss our Wolves entered week 3 hoping to get their first win of this season. This week's opponent was Sporting Peru who had made the jump from OT4. The Wolves started off well, maintaining possession and very rarely letting Sporting Peru gain much offensively. While our opponents passed the ball around well, they did not have the legs to keep up. Despite the early pressure, our Wolves could not convert any of their chances. It felt like déjà vu, as if the previous week were repeating itself. Our opposition struck the first goal of the game. A free kick just 20 yards outside the box was placed perfectly into the top left corner and Sporting Peru were up 1-0. Despite the setback, our Wolves continued to apply pressure but could not get a final touch on the ball when it mattered and went into half time down 1-0.

When the 2^nd half kicked off, our Wolves immediately continued to pile on the pressure. After a 3^rd consecutive corner, we were awarded a penalty when a Sporting Peru defender tried to clear the ball but caught Roberto Carvalho. Thankfully he was not hurt and Hakan Mustafa calmly converted the penalty. Shortly after, our persistence was rewarded as we took the lead. Our Wolves Hakan won a ball in midfield and drove forward. He waited for the defender to commit and played a perfect ball to Joel Nethercote-Devlin who was alone with the goalkeeper and converted, making it 2-1. We weren't resting on our laurels; our Wolves continued the onslaught. Hakan scored his 2^nd goal of the game on a breakaway as he received a well-timed ball that was lobbed over Sporting Peru's defense. Hakan would complete the hat trick when he brought the ball down in the box and finished off this game. Sporting Peru did get one back to make it 4-2 after the Wolves let off a bit but it was nothing more than a consolation goal for them.

Our Player of the Game was impossible to give to anyone other than Hakan Mustafa. With three goals and an assist, he was the standout performer on the pitch. Having missed the previous week, his return was a huge boost for our team, and his attacking mindset from central midfield was exactly what we needed.

WOLVES OT4 ALBANIA - Battles Hard in a Thrilling See-Saw Affair!

It was a night of pure grit, determination, and a relentless refusal to back down.

We kicked off the match with a razor-thin roster, but as the opening minutes ticked by, a few more welcome bodies arrived to give us some much-needed depth.

Once we settled in, we quickly found our rhythm and matched our opponent's intensity. What followed was a classic, high-octane game of cat and mouse.

WOLVES OT5 - Focused on Better Outcomes!

Our OT5 Wolves hosted the FC Gatineau Brothers on our home field at Ben Franklin Park. With some players occupying different positions and others making their season debuts, it took a bit of time for our team to get into gear. As the game advanced, we got into gear, trying to control possession of the ball.

The first half ended 0-0. We created some good scoring chances, but the ball would not go in. At the start of the second half, Gatineau scored. However, our team quickly tied the game with a free kick from Fuad. Shortly after, Ada scored on a fast break, making the game 2-1 for the Wolves. We kept creating chances, but the crossbar denied us a few times. With 15 minutes to go, Gatineau tied the game. In the last minute of play, Gatineau scored the winner following a corner kick.

The game ended 2-3 for Gatineau. As a team, we know that we can, and we will do better. Our next match will be against White Eagles United on their home field.

WOLVES MOT3 - Wolves Rise to the Challenge in Rockers Rematch!

Our MOT3 Wolves played their third game of the OCSL season against the Rockers United, a team we've had some spirited battles over the years, including a memorable fight for the league title a couple of seasons ago. That history was definitely on our minds heading into this divisional rematch.

Our team got off to a fantastic start, racing out to a commanding 3-0 lead. Our passing was sharp, everything seemed to be clicking, and there was very little resistance from our opponents. In fact, it almost felt too easy.

And it was.

After building that early cushion, we sat back a little, and before long the momentum shifted. A couple of unfortunate bounces, along with two of our goals being called back, suddenly had the Rockers right back in the game and clinging to a narrow 3-2 lead.

We responded with another goal to make it 4-2 and restore some breathing room. A special mention goes to Charles V., whose absolute rocket of a goal was a true "O-h-h-h!" moment and one that won't soon be forgotten.

But again, the Rockers refused to go away. Another unlucky clearance resulted in an own goal, and once again we found ourselves protecting a slim 4-3 advantage.

This time, however, there was a difference. Our Wolves rediscovered the magic that fueled our strong start and quickly put the game out of reach with two late goals, securing a satisfying and well-earned victory.

What a satisfying moment for our Westboro Wolves Soccer Club. Our first women’s team, the Yellow Cards, competed in the inaugural 'Rise & Reign' Tournament in Perth this weekend.

A huge thank you to all of the Yellow Cards players for choosing our club. From a vision to accomplishment, our gratitude to team managers Lindsay and Angela for all their hard work and organization in making this team a reality.

WOLVES HOMA MC4 - Going the Distance and Winning Big!

Our Westboro Wolves Homa MC4 traveled to Cornwall to face the SVSC Blazers and secured another strong performance with a 4-0 victory.

WW Homa took control early in the match and managed to score two goals in the first half, giving the team a solid advantage heading into the break.

The second half was more competitive, with the SVSC Blazers responding well and putting together a strong effort on their home field. Despite the pressure, WW Homa maintained composure and continued to create opportunities, adding two more goals to seal the win and keep our perfect record intact.
