Who we are
MORE THAN JUST A CLUB
The year was 1984…in the world of soccer, we witnessed Argentinian soccer great, Diego Maradona, being sold to Serie A Italian soccer Club, Napoli for a then record-setting fee.
France beats Spain 2-0 to capture the Euro ’84 title.
And the Westboro Wolves Soccer Club is formed by Mike Macklin and Grant Hannah, who shared management duties.
Their first coach was the legendary, Gordie Esner. Their team began play in what was then called the Ottawa – District Soccer Association (ODSA), later the Ottawa – Carleton Soccer League (OCSL).
The early 90’s saw the Club transition and grow under new player-manager, Rocco Zito, enjoying on-field success. In 2007, current manager, Antonino (Tony) Zito, became Club manager. Our ‘Wolf Pack’ has grown but one aspect has never changed — our commitment to something bigger than the game itself: building a culture of respect, creating a safe environment, and upholding fair play in everything we do.
