Games Played June 06-07 2026
What a big weekend for so many reasons.
This was the first tournament we all played in together, the first-ever 'Rise and Reign' tournament, and the first women’s team competing under the Westboro Wolves banner. Being part of all of those firsts made the weekend feel pretty special.
And what a weekend it was - from competing through a full-on torrential downpour to battling through some tough, physical matches - everyone showed up ready to give their all. We had an awesome group of ladies, and we couldn't be prouder of the effort, determination, and heart that everyone brought to the field. Our resilience and teamwork says a lot about who we are as a team.
Beyond the results, it felt special to be part of an event that celebrates and supports women in sport. Weekends like this remind us why we love playing and why being part of this community means so much.
A special thank you to Crystal for leading the charge on food. We ate like Wolves and it made a huge difference having everything so well organized and taken care of. Your efforts definitely did not go unnoticed!
And thank you, Katy, for keeping us aligned, organized, and on track during our games. There are always a million moving pieces at tournaments like this, and your leadership helped keep everything running smoothly so we could focus on playing our best.
Most importantly, thank you to every single one of you for showing up, working hard, supporting one another, and representing our team with pride. This tournament was  about much more than soccer — it was about building something together, and I think we got off to a pretty great start.
Cheers,
Ange and Linds

WOLVES MR2 - A Win Built on Grit, Heart, and Teamwork!

Author
By ANTONINO Z. Team Manager

Game Played June 08-2026

Congratulations to our MR2 Wolves on winning their first match in a tense, hard-fought affair.

We had an anxious start but recovered nicely. In fact, when our opponents managed to break through, many of our players stood tall and dealt with the pressure. It was an immense improvement from the week before.

We introduced a new formation to allow us to play to our strength, and the signs are very encouraging. The talent we have on this squad is a joy to watch, and I can't wait to see how much better we become week after week.

Great start to the season, everyone. Let's enjoy the victory and keep building.

Our Goal scorer:
⚽ Ohida A. - 1

It was also a night of milestones. We welcomed both Few brothers to the team (Jacob and Ryan who just returned from England a few hours before kickoff), the return from Croatia of Carlo, Joseph, and we celebrated birthday 🎂 boy Anthony.

WOLVES MR4 - Full Bench, Better Results!

Author
By CHRIS A. Team Manager

Game Played June 09-2026

After a few weeks of playing short-handed, we finally had 11 players available and picked up our second win together under the lights at Terry Fox.
The scoreline reflected the performance. We moved the ball well, created chances, and probably played our best football of the season so far.
Goals from Feyi, George, Chris, and two from David got the job done and gave us a result that felt deserved after some tough games to start the year.
There’s still lots to improve on, but this was a good step in the right direction. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into the next match.

WOLVES MR5 - Encouraging Performance Despite Late Setback!

Author
By KILEY M. Team Manager
Game Played June 10-2026
As our Westboro Wolves MR5 returned to their home field, we had a full squad available for the first time in recent weeks, looking to build on some encouraging past performances.
The game got off to the worst start as two costly defensive errors gifted Arnprior an early 2-0 lead. Despite the setback, our Wolves responded well, making some tactical adjustments and beginning to take control of possession and territory. Our attacking play improved significantly, creating several quality chances, only to be denied repeatedly by an outstanding Arnprior goalkeeper who produced several remarkable saves to keep his side in front.
Our team's pressure finally paid off in the second half when Malcolm McAllister stepped up with a moment of pure quality. Spotting space from over 30 yards out, McAllister unleashed a thunderous strike that flew into the top corner, giving their goalkeeper absolutely no chance and bringing our Wolves back into this contest.
With momentum firmly on our side, the Wolves continued to push forward. Our persistence was rewarded when 'POTG', Cameron Hastings, produced a piece of brilliance of his own. Driving into the penalty area, Hastings finished emphatically into the top corner with the outside of his right foot, capping off a superb individual performance and leveling the match at 2-2.
Unfortunately, the celebrations were short-lived. Within two minutes, another defensive lapse proved costly. Attempting to play the offside trap, our team were caught out, allowing Arnprior through on goal to restore their advantage.
Our Goalscorers:
⚽ Malcolm McAllister -1
⚽Cameron Hastings - 1
Our Wolves can take encouragement from a spirited display and will look to tighten things up as they prepare for their next fixture.

WOLVES OT2 - Wolves Rise Above the Physical Challenges in Gritty Performance!

Author
By JEFF D. Team Manager

Game Played June 12 2026

Our Wolves headed into their 4th game off the back of their first win of the season and looking to continue their momentum. This week's opponent was Gloucester Sporting. From the beginning of the 1st half, our Wolves pushed Gloucester back and controlled the majority of the play.

Gloucester struggled at times to match the pace of our quicker players, leading to physical play and late contact as play moved quickly through the midfield. The referee opted for a lenient approach, allowing the game to flow despite several robust challenges from both sides.

Our Wolves matched their physical intensity, and while the contest was hard-fought, the official remained consistent in allowing play to continue. As a result, a match that could easily have seen several cautions in the opening stages remained largely uninterrupted.

At halftime, both team captains spoke with the referee to seek clarification on how certain challenges would be officiated as the game progressed, emphasizing that they were simply looking for consistency in the application of fouls throughout the remainder of the match so the game didn't get out of hand. He explained that he was generally allowing shoulder-to-shoulder contact, provided it remained within his interpretation of fair play. Thankfully, we continued without further issues!

Our Wolves continued where they left off in the 2nd half. Gloucester had trouble getting into the attacking 3rd and when they did, our defenders dealt with everything. As the 2nd half went on, our team was unable to find a 2nd goal despite several close calls. As the half entered the final 15 minutes, Gloucester, getting desperate, began throwing more bodies forward and sent any ball they could into the box. Playing his 1st game for the Wolves, our keeper, Antonio Godoy, was able to deal with anything that got past his defenders. Our Wolves finally got an insurance goal when Hicham Hamze pushing up from RB got in alone on their GK. His initial pass to Hakan Mustafa who had joined the attack was just out of reach. Hakan was able to collect the ball and a great cross found Hicham who headed it home. Hakan added a goal of his own just a few minutes later to put the game completely out of reach. It was a solid performance from the entire team and the 1st clean sheet of the season.

Our 'Player of the Game' was Zeyad Kassis.  Zeyad opened the scoring and was a constant attacking threat from the wing throughout this match. His pace and movement regularly put him in dangerous positions behind the Gloucester defense, while his work rate was evident in his willingness to track back and support defensively when possession changed hands. He also created several promising opportunities with his long throw-ins, which repeatedly caused problems and caught Gloucester off guard.

WOLVES OT4 ALBANIA - A Six-Goal Thriller to Start the Weekend!

Author
By Q.V. Team Manager

Game Played June 12 2026

It was a beautiful night kicking off the weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the pitch looked green and lovely. The match started with incredibly high intensity from both sides, but it was our opponents who drew first blood, striking early to score the opening goal.

Showing the true resilience this squad is known for, our Wolves dug deep and fought back hard, turning the momentum completely around to find ourselves up 2-1 at the half.

The second half was a thrilling, back-and-forth battle. The opponents managed to tie the match at 2-2, but shortly after, we struck again to reclaim the lead at 3-2. Just when it looked like we were going to walk away with all three points, they managed to find an equalizer in the dying seconds of the game, ending the match in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

WOLVES OT5 - Commitment and Solidarity!

Author

Game Played June 12 2026

Our OT5 Wolves team faced the White Eagles United on their home field. This was a difficult match against the current leaders of the division. We had many good scoring opportunities, but it just wasn’t our night.

The game ended 1-6 for the White Eagles United. Mahdi scored our only goal with a flawless penalty kick. Despite the result, we saw commitment and solidarity among all players. This is a new team, with 13 guys playing together for the first time. Getting into gear will take time, but we will get there and we will be better.

Our next match will be against Ottawa Hellenic on our home field.

WOLVES MOT3 - Our Wolves Roar Back!

Author
By CHARLES V. Team Manager and TONY Z. Team Player

Game Played June 12 2026

Great result on Friday night.  We certainly started this match off slowly, struggling to string passes together, and we gave Jadran too much space.  Your keeper did not help matters when he rocketed a wayward pass off Marco B. (mea culpe), and the consequence was a 2-0 hole with only about 30 minutes gone.  If we break the game into 30-minute chunks, the second 30 was all about steadying the ship and slowly coming into the game.  While we still struggled to create chances in the final third, we were clearly taking control of the mid-field and forcing Jadran to play on the back foot.  Still, it felt a bit like we were going to pay the price for our slow start.  The final 30 minutes saw us come to life, sparked by pure hustle from Oscar A..  Then a seemingly innocuous shot was spilled by their keeper and Oscar was quickest to react, giving us a lifeline.  Next up, Jefferson D. chased down a ball deep in the corner, and with the keeper out of position he floated a lovely left footed shot into the net from a tight angle.  From that point there was to be only one winner, and with two minutes left Oscar latched onto the end of a perfectly weighted ball from Mark F., finishing with a great shot over their charging keeper.  When the final whistle blew, a few of us were hustling off, feeling like we had all but stolen three points.  Suffice to say, however, we won’t be so lucky against the stronger teams that are still to come, so let’s hope this was a lesson well learned. Big thanks to Bill M. as well for coming out on short notice… great to have you back on the pitch.

What a comeback!

On a humid evening in suffocating heat, against a physical team, we found ourselves down by two goals late in this match. Then, to make matters worse, we lost two players to injuries.

What happened next defines the heart of this squad. We didn't score one, nor two, but three unanswered goals to complete an incredible comeback victory. A shout out to our keeper, Charles V., who made an amazing, perfectly timed stop preventing their third goal.

What an inspired performance by our team. We're proud of every player who battled until the final whistle!
