A Strong Effort from Our Wolves!

By: Jahleel B., Team Manager
Game played: Monday, August 18th, 2025
Our Wolves came out firing, with early goals from Matt Fyfe and Mark Oueis setting the tone. We held strong, battled hard, and showcased our talent against a tough Falcons side.
We came close to salvaging some points, but those clanged posts were unforgiving!
Unfortunately, a lapse in defense saw us lose focus late in the game, and it slipped through our claws. We came close to salvaging some points but those posts we clanged were unforgiving!
Plenty of positives to take forward — we regroup, refocus, and come back stronger next week!

Securing Top Spot!

In Week 12 of the OCSL League play, our Wolves-Homa MR2 faced O.I.S.C., the second-place team in the table. Before this match, the gap between the two sides was only three points, and a win for O.I.S.C. could have given them a strong chance at the league title.
Unlike previous matches, Wolves-Homa started aggressively from the opening minutes of the first half. Continuous pressure from the flanks paid off in the 10th minute, when Wolves-Homa scored the opening goal. The game remained under Wolves-Homa’s control, but in the dying moments of the first half, an O.I.S.C. striker, in a seemingly offside position, found the net. Despite strong protests from our team, the referee allowed the goal, and the half ended 1-1.
In the second half, coach Roozbeh Manesh’s men once again turned to heavy attacks to secure their place at the top of the table. His brilliant tactics paid off, as Wolves-Homa netted three consecutive goals within the first 15 minutes, extending the lead significantly. O.I.S.C., however, managed to pull one back and even earned a penalty, but our Wolves-Homa’s in-form goalkeeper, Kasra Dovatgar, produced a stunning save to keep our team ahead.
The thrilling and high-scoring encounter ended 4-2 in favor of Wolves-Homa, solidifying our position at the top and taking another big step toward the championship.
FORZA WOLVES!

At the end of the match, Nikan Nadimi Farokh, who delivered an outstanding performance at right-back, was named our ‘Player of the Game‘ by the coaching staff.

Another Vital Win — Sealed with Late-Game Magic!

By: Antonino Z., Team Manager
Game played: Wednesday, August 20th, 2025
It came down to this.
Think back to that moment when you saw our winning goal snap the twine. Nearly 80 minutes of relentless team effort looked like it might go unrewarded. But then, Kevin R., our relentless ball-hound, turned up the pressure — his signature sustained hustle forced a mistake in their box. And BAM — we finally tally that elusive goal we fought so hard for. We earned that one.
The relief, elation, and pure joy among our teammates was inspiring. A moment that reminded us why we show up, grind it out, and play for each other.
Following our goal, we began passing with such intricacy and fluidity that we completely dominated possession. It was our own version of tiki-taka — smooth, precise, and absolutely beautiful to watch!
I often say how grateful I am for the effort each of you puts in, week after week, to make these games happen. It’s not lost on me that sacrifices are made — with time, energy, and commitment.
These memories we’re creating together on and off the field are ones we should never forget.
A shoutout to Q.V. for helping us out and for your hustle, and cheers to Matteo Z. and Michael M. for keeping the good vibes rolling after the game! To our sideline supporters — celebrating was all the sweeter with your presence.
Before kickoff, we knew exactly what we needed to do — and our performance reflected that. I’m proud of our team as we push closer to our ultimate goal.
FORZA WOLVES!

Our self-proclaimed ‘tank engine’ was relentless in his hunt for the ball—and it paid off! Right place, right time, and BOOM—Kevin R. scores the winning goal. A well-deserved reward for nonstop effort and determination!

Championship Hopes Take a Hit After Thrilling Draw!

By: Q. V., Team Manager
Game played: Tuesday, August 19th, 2025
This week’s match against the Gloucester Hornets at our home field was a nail-biter, but ultimately, a draw wasn’t enough to keep our Wolves-Albania’s championship aspirations on track. The game got off to a rocky start, with a few defensive miscues allowing Gloucester to take a 2-0 lead.
However, Wolves-Albania showed great resilience and character, mounting a strong comeback with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead. The momentum seemed to be in our favour, but Gloucester capitalized on our momentary lapse in the final 15 minutes, equalizing to make it 3-3.
Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, Wolves-Albania’s forwards couldn’t find the back of the net, and the draw proved costly. We slipped from the top spot in the table, and our championship chances now seem quite slim.
While our own title hopes may be dwindling, one thing is certain – a Westboro Wolves Soccer Club team will be crowned champions next week.

Our Westboro Wolves secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against a tough Ottawa Falcons team in a nail-biting match! It was a close contest from start to finish, but our team’s resilience and determination saw us through to the win!
The goals came from some fantastic individual efforts. Tim Austen opened his account with a crucial goal, and the scoring was led by Matt Hum, who netted a brilliant brace to seal the victory for the Wolves!
This win is a testament to our team’s fight and ability to secure a result against a strong opponent and the result vaulted us to the top of the table. We’re proud of the effort and look forward to carrying this momentum into the next game!

Another Draw for Wolves-Homa MR4!

By: Kamyar T., Team Manager
Game played: Tuesday, August 19th, 2025
Our Wolves-Homa MR4 team played out another draw in Week 13 of the O.C.S.L., despite showing attacking football and creating plenty of chances. The team missed several opportunities, while the opponent relied mainly on individual counterattacks to level the game.
Even though Wolves-Homa conceded three goals, the back line — Ramtin Hosseini, Hossein Sadr, Elman Safaei, and Nima Hamdani — put in a solid performance and stood strong for most of the match.
Imad was the ‘Player of the Game‘ for Wolves-Homa, scoring two brilliant goals and even striking the crossbar with a powerful shot that almost gave him a hat-trick.
*Note: The result of this match is subject to change, pending a League review. This may lead to the outcome being overturned.

Committed to Fair Play, Always!

By: Q.V., Team Manager
Game played: Friday, August 22nd, 2025
Our second match against White Eagles was a highly anticipated rematch, following our 2-2 draw in the first game. We knew they were a formidable opponent, and the game did not disappoint.
This match started well for the White Eagles, as they drew first blood. However, our team quickly responded with Q.V. tying the game on a breakaway. The momentum shifted, but as the game wore on and players got more tired, the White Eagles scored two more goals, resulting in a 3-1 score at the final whistle.
While the scoreline reflects a loss, there are additional factors under consideration. The outcome of this game is currently under review by the League. This match showcased some great moments, but the integrity of the game is paramount. We’ll await the league’s verdict and move forward from there.

Eyes on the Prize : One Step Closer!

By: Adam Black, Team Player
Game played: Friday, August 22nd, 2025
Our OT6 Wolves continued their impressive run on Friday, August 22nd, with a commanding 5-1 victory over the Almonte Generals at Gemmill Park in Almonte. The team really showed their strength and determination, maintaining a strong pace throughout the game. And this match further solidified our Wolves position near the top of the division standings.
The offence was particularly sharp on the night, with Jay ‘Doc’ Leclair leading the charge with two fantastic goals. One of Doc’s goals was particularly memorable, as his incredible footwork left the Generals’ goalkeeper completely disoriented, leading to an easy tap-in. On another goal, Scott ‘the Jackhammer’ Gray capitalized with a spectacular finish off a brilliant through ball from ‘Struttin’’ Ryan Strotmann. Rounding out the scoring with single goals in the match, albeit far less notable, were Kevin ‘the Iceman’ Beyer and Hakim ‘the Dream’ Tamimount, who both consistently deliver for our team!
Looking ahead, the OT6 Wolves are gearing up for a regular season finale against the White Eagles. This highly anticipated match has been dubbed as a ‘no holds barred’ grudge match for good reason – it’s a winner-takes-all scenario between the top two teams in the division. It’s going to require all-hands-on-deck, and we will be looking for everyone’s support in their quest for a first-place finish!

This past game marked the final appearance of the season for one of our productive Wolves — Mark Burger. As he heads off to Europe for an exciting new chapter, we’re sending him off with nothing but pride and appreciation for everything he’s brought to our Club. He’s already promised to be back in the Pack once his European stint is done — and we’ll be ready when he is. As a nod to his love for our Wolves, Mark was given this Wolves-themed gift to help settle into his new home.

THE WOLVES POUNCE ON A BIRD THAT FLEW TOO LOW!

By: Domenico P., Team Keeper
Game played: Friday, August 22nd, 2025
While city lawns and fields remained yellow due to the ongoing heat and lack of rain, Friday evening’s pitch at Centrepointe was anything but yellow. A lush green pitch that screamed ‘football’.
Prior to kick-off, our Wolves’ players took to the pitch to stretch, kick the ball around, and even catch-up, however in the distance a rather tall, lanky, and hair covered creature could be seen kicking the ball around. The unrecognized creature led a few to speculate that our Assistant Manager, Paul T. was desperate for players and called-up a ‘Sasquatch’ to play, however as many of the Wolves’ players approached the unknown creature, they learned it was no other than the actual Team Manager, Charles V. who had unexpectedly returned from his holidays and having lost his ability to shave was covered in an unkept beard! Everyone was relieved, after all, who knows what a hungry or angry Sasquatch may do during the match.
It was also during the match that Frank M. learned that Marco B. was actually Italian and that his name is spelt with a ‘C’ and not a ‘K’ (he thought he could be Balkan) and upon learning of his Italian origins, Frank M. thought of the two things that consumes his life, Football and Food, and therefore was wondering if Marco B. had access to affordable Parmigiano Reggiano! Unfortunately, Marco B. does not have access to the world’s most prized cheese but rather polenta! It is also Andrew S. and Roberto S. favourite dish!
The league’s favourite Scot returned to first team play after staying away the previous week due to oral surgery, however after watching him play, many wondered if Mark F. actually had ankle surgery instead as he was slipping all over the pitch, but more importantly every shot on net was over the cross-bar and to the left of goal, not once or twice, but six times! Mark F. would admit, it was not his best night, unlike his compatriot Scott McTominay who opened Napoli’s title defense with a ‘banger’ of a goal to take his side atop of the ‘Serie A’ standings.
Prior to kick-off, Paul T. reminded everyone once again of the importance of the match and despite beating the side in an earlier match-up, it wasn’t an easy win and this evening would be no different. The message was understood loud and clear, and may have contributed to emotions of the first half, fortunately cooler minds would prevail (nothing like a yellow card or two to cool things down). The Falcons applied real pressure early in this match that would see our Wolves’ goalkeeper make a few catches, however with time the Wolves began to apply pressure and two quick goals saw the Wolves enjoy a 2-0 lead thanks to Frank M. and Alonso G.. Our Wolves continued to apply pressure with Ted P. sending Marco B. a number of times down the right corner of the pitch with runs that Marco B. has not had to make in years…and when Ted P. wasn’t busy lighting a fire under Marco B., Matthew C. and Andrew S. were running up and down the flanks creating opportunities and forcing turnovers. Their efforts were on full display, after the match, we had to peel off their sweat-drenched jerseys. A+ for effort! With the Falcons trying to find some way to break the Wolves defense, midway through the first half, they tried running past our defender Tony Z. however he wasn’t going to have any of that on his watch and he showed the Falcons Striker as Tony Z hugged and snugged the Falcons’ striker in the box that led to the first penalty kick of the season against the Wolves. It was a very soft foul that was embellished. You can’t fault the Falcons player for trying. Our Tony Z was shocked and not happy. Roberto S. having read the penalty-takers body language was pointing to his left which the goalkeeper thought was his right and unfortunately the miscommunication resulted in a goal. Roberto S. and Dom P. have to work on their communication skills!
During the half-time break, Tony Z. reminded everyone to focus on the match and to play a bit smarter (advice he took to heart in the second half) and it will be easier for the Wolves to bring home an important 3 points, after all, the Falcons only had two substitutes, and the team overall was looking tired.
Our second half started and clearly the Falcons were fatigued, and it showed as our Wolves’ goalkeeper had very little to do but to encourage his side to move into open spaces and to shoot. Many scoring opportunities were denied by the goal posts and crossbars, along with the Falcons’ stand-in goalkeeper who played very well to give his side a chance but unfortunately it would not be enough. The Wolves would go on to score another 2 goals by Moe F. and Charles V. and win this match 4-1 inching ever closer to promotion.
With the blow of the final whistle, our Wolves players pumped their fists in the air to celebrate (there would be no jumping as the team was simply too tired to jump). A big congratulations on a team effort for coming together, putting aside the emotions, and earning three important points!

Coming off a two-goal masterclass last game, Frank decided scoring once per match was his new thing—and, true to form, he found the net again, like clockwork. He deservedly took home our ‘Player of the Game‘ honours!
