Valiant Performance Falls Short!

Game played: Monday, August 25th, 2025
Sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story. Our Wolves came out swinging, grabbed the lead, and gave O.S.U. everything they could handle. In the end, their athleticism wore us down—but we’re walking away with heads held high.
🙌 A shout out to OT6’s Noah Bright and MR3’s Joseph Catanzariti for stepping in to help us out due to low numbers.
Proud of our fight. Proud of our team! 🐺

🔥 Big ups to Markel for an absolute beauty of a goal.

BIG Win in the Last Home Match!

By: Omid M., Team Manager
Game played: Monday, August 25th, 2025
In week 13 of the OCSL MR2 league play, WW-Homa secured a commanding 10–1 victory over their guests, Inter Milan.
Wolves-Homa Team Manager, Roozbeh Manesh’s players entered the pitch with an attacking mindset from the very first minutes, scoring their opening goal only 3 minutes in. The relentless pressure continued throughout the match, ultimately sealing an emphatic and high-scoring triumph for our WW-Homa.
This valuable three points further strengthened WW-Homa’s position at the top of the table and significantly boosted their chances of winning the championship.
FORZA WOLVES!

At the end of the match, Amir Deravi was named our ‘Player of the Game‘. With three brilliant goals, he fully earned this recognition.

A Thrilling Season Finale!

By: Q. V., Team Manager
Game played: Tuesday, August 26th, 2025
As the curtains draw on another exhilarating season, our Wolves-Albania stands proudly in second place, just two points shy of the top spot. Our latest encounter was a testament to the team’s resilience and determination, despite the odds being stacked against us.
With the days growing shorter and kickoff times creeping earlier, we faced a daunting challenge: fielding a full squad on time. Brave and bold, we took to the pitch with eight players, our hearts ablaze with competitive spirit. The first half was a grueling test of endurance, and we fell behind 3-0. Yet, as reinforcements arrived, our momentum shifted. We managed to score a crucial goal, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. The final whistle blew, signaling a 3-1 loss.
Despite the outcome, our second-place finish in the standings is a remarkable achievement for our inaugural season. We are proud of our progress and the unwavering dedication that brought us to this point.
Season Highlights
We’d like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our top scorer, Leorent Plakaj, for an extraordinary achievement: topping the division’s scoring charts with an impressive 26 goals. His remarkable talent and dedication have been a driving force behind our team’s success, and we’re honoured to have him on our roster.

In a standout performance, Besmir K. anchored our defense with unyielding resolve. His arrival marked a turning point, as the opposing team struggled to breach our defensive lines. Alongside his fellow defenders, Besmir provided a solid foundation that kept the opposition at bay, earning him well-deserved ‘Player of the Game’ honours.

Westboro Wolves Are League Champions!

By: Gabe F., Team Manager
Game played: Tuesday, August 26th, 2025

What a dramatic way to end the season! In a thrilling finale, our Westboro Wolves secured their league title (our 2nd consecutive MR4 League title) after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Carleton Place F.C.. Needing a win or a tie to clinch the championship, our team delivered under the pressure after a late-night, rainy kickoff.
The game was a tense affair from the start. Carleton Place managed to score first off a well-executed set piece, putting us behind and raising the stakes even higher. But our team’s resolve shone through. We battled back, and the crucial equalizer came from Tristan Delorme, whose goal leveled the score and put the championship back within our grasp.
The game finished at 1-1, and with that final whistle, the dream became a reality.

Our Westboro Wolves are your new MR4 League Champions!
FORZA WOLVES!

Toasting beneath the moonlight!

Tristan was named our ‘Player of the Game‘ for his clutch performance, scoring a timely goal that helped secure our Championship victory!

One Goal Decides It: Our Wolves-Homa Stays Strong!

By: Nima H., Team Manager
Game played: Tuesday, August 26th, 2025
In a tightly contested OCSL MR4 League game, our Wolves-Homa suffered a narrow defeat, with the outcome heavily influenced by difficult playing conditions. This match was played on a poorly maintained pitch, which disrupted our Wolves-Homa’s trademark technical style and hindered our ability to control possession and build fluid attacks.
Our opponents, by contrast, embraced a more direct approach, relying on long balls and rapid counterattacks. It was one such counter that proved decisive, as a solitary goal broke the deadlock and ultimately sealed the result.
Despite several promising opportunities for Wolves-Homa, our strikers were unable to convert them into goals. The defense held strong for most of the game, but a single lapse proved costly.
The loss leaves Wolves-Homa in fourth place on the league table with 21 points — a respectable position given the squad’s relative inexperience this season. The coaching staff has done an excellent job of bringing our group together. Looking ahead, we’re optimistic for the next season and hope to climb even higher in the standings.

Short-Handed Wolves Battle Hard!

By: Salvador H. C., Team Assistant Manager
Game played: Friday, August 29th, 2025
In a rescheduled match from the start of the season, our OT5 Westboro Wolves took on the Ottawa Hellenic this past Friday. With the Labour Day weekend and the back-to-school rush in full swing, player availability was limited—only 8 Wolves took to the field at kickoff. Thankfully, by the 20-minute mark, we had 13 players, allowing the starting squad a much-needed rest.
It was a hard-fought battle, with opportunities at both ends of the pitch. Despite a strong effort, the game ended in a loss to the Hellenic side. No ‘Player of the Game’ was chosen this time, but the team remains determined and united.
Forza Wolves!

Down to the Wire: Wolves Still Hold First as Title Hangs in the Balance!

By: Adam Black, Team Player
Game played: Friday, August 29th, 2025
New Edinburgh Park was electric on Friday, August 29th, as the OT6 Wolves squared off against the favoured, White Eagles. This highly anticipated match, previously dubbed a ‘no holds barred‘ grudge match, was set to determine the OT6 division title. Despite being light on player numbers, our Wolves family stepped up — and we’re especially grateful to Kevin Ridgway (MR3), Bren Walker (MR4), and Hamidreza Sadreazami (MR4-Homa) for answering the call and helping us out.
In a highly physical game, the White Eagles drew first blood with a penalty kick resulting from a questionable referee call, which drew the ire of the visiting crowd and particularly stand-in Team Manager, Mark ‘Chipper’ Jones, who was sidelined with a lower-body injury. However, it wasn’t long before Eamon ‘the Rattlesnake’ Kavanagh scored the Wolves’ first goal in spectacular fashion, weaving through defenders and striking with precision. The White Eagles quickly responded, holding a 2-1 lead as both teams headed into halftime.
With less than ten minutes remaining in the second half, and the sun figuratively and literally setting on the Wolves’ season, hopes for a division title were diminishing. As many fans began to fold up their lawn chairs, with the score at 3-1 for the White Eagles, a glimmer of hope arrived. Our Jay ‘Doc’ Leclair was granted a penalty kick after a defensive take down just inside the penalty area. Doc scored in his usual corner (not saying which one), bringing the game to within one goal. Like the ‘Bambino’ (Babe Ruth) calling his home run shot, Kevin ‘the Rocket’ Ridgway scored the game-tying goal, hammering the ball just out of the goalkeeper’s reach with only minutes remaining.
The Wolves faithful, crowded behind the visiting bench, erupted in cheers and celebration, having witnessed such a miraculous late-game comeback! A special thank you goes out to the many fans who helped extinguish the flaming trail of grass left behind in the Rocket’s blaze of glory!
As the sun set and the referee’s final whistle blew, it was a 3-3 tie that felt like much more. Unfortunately, with the White Eagles having a game in hand and the Wolves only leading by two points in the standings, their fate is no longer within team control.
Regardless of what happens in the division’s final game play, finishing with a 9-3-2 record represents one of the finest seasons ever compiled by this Wolf pack. Congratulations to all on OT6 and best wishes as we look ahead to next season!
To be continued…Forza Wolves!

A TUMBLE and a ROLL Towards Another VICTORY!

By: Domenico P., Team Keeper
Game played: Friday, August 29th, 2025

It was a perfect Friday evening for an Old Firm Derby. It was cold, wet, and cloudy, just like any other day in Glasgow, but alas, it was Ottawa, and every match was like a Derby as the Westboro Wolves played for both promotion and a League championship. Unfortunately, the Scot that would guide our side under these conditions was away, and we had to rely on Tom Prowse’s experience of growing up in England…not the same as Scotland but it is after all always wet and cloudy too!
Before the match, Charles V. and Paul T. gave the team a pep talk and reminded everyone that the last match against the Fitzroy Harbour Wanderers was not easy and our opponents weren’t driving to Ottawa to lose, therefore it was imperative that we remained focused for the entire 90 minutes. While the motivational speech was happening, we learned that Frank M. wears white crocs around the house, much to the chagrin of his wife. He admits they are his comfort shoes, just like a plate of carbonara is his comfort food.
The starting whistle was blown and the Wolves applied immediate pressure on the Wanderers, relentlessly pushing to goal with excellent passing and off the ball movement that made for some beautiful football. Our Moe F. would be the straw in the middle who would often be stirring a bit too much for some, but just right to make that pass to create that opportunity. Repeatedly the Wolves relied on their wingers, notably, Matt C. and Andrew S., to cross the ball into the box (it was becoming a competition between the two as to who was crossing it better). The Wanderers stood firm, with some help due to unlucky bounces, and cleared the ball from danger. Despite the pressure, the Wolves would only net their first goal just over the mid-point of the first half and minutes later their second goal of the half to go up 2-0! The statistics certainly favoured the Wolves but the score line did not reflect it.
The second half of the match would have a different feel to the first half, with the match being becoming more chippy. Our John M. once again managed to get under an opposing team’s skin, and the funny thing is that John M. does nothing but play his role, perhaps too well. Despite the language and the contact, John M. remained cool. Our defender, Tony Z., even offered to switch sides to help out John M.. and to alleviate the tension. It was also in the second half that the Wolves conceded their second straight penalty kick in as many games when a very handsy Roberto S. nudged an opposing player in the box during an indirect kick. Unfortunately, Marco B’s right is keeper Dom P.‘s left, and the Wanderers netted a goal from the spot to cut the lead in half.
With the Wanderers gaining some momentum, our Wolves were feeling the heat and in particular our center-back, Gerry V.. Perhaps the fact that his family was watching or simply he felt he could make the difference in this tight match-up, but in the 73rd minute with the Wanderers moving-in towards goal, out of nowhere, Gerry V. would move across the pitch take the ball off the opposing players foot, trip on the play, fly into the sky and then roll on the ground to then, like a cat, bounce back on both feet and continue playing despite losing his sense of direction on the play. He was the Simone Biles of MOT4. That inspiring play would see him minutes later drive from the back to the front of the pitch and move the ball off to Dino D. who would net the insurance goal to put the Wolves up 3-1 and in the driver’s seat with mere minutes left in the game.
Some noteworthy mentions go to Alonso G., who missed the match due to oral surgery — making it so that half of the Wolves’ MOT4 squad has now undergone some form of dental procedure in just the past few weeks! Our defender, Mimmo M., who scored a goal that was first called off and then called on and then called off and then finally called on…no one knew whether to celebrate or cry for those few minutes. A shout out to John M. whose son Adam M. headed off to the University of Colorado to study for his Masters degree and to be closer to their famous football coach, Deion Sanders. Go Buffaloes!

Sideline supporters Tessa (seen left), our Wolves winger, Matthew, and Daniel (seen right).

Our ageless Dino-saur was a true force on the pitch! With quick, purposeful runs and relentless energy, he stepped up when it mattered most securing a crucial insurance goal just when the game was hanging in the balance. A performance full of effort and class, well deserving of our ‘Player of the Game‘ honours!
