MR2-HOMA
Another Championship for Our Wolves-Homa!

By: Omid M., Team Manager
Game played: Monday, September 1st, 2025

In the final week of the O.C.S.L.’s MR2 League play, our WW-Homa faced O.S.U.. The match took place with WW-Homa sitting at the top of the table, six points clear of the second-place team, making them the frontrunner for the championship. However, on paper, O.S.U. still had a chance at the title due to still having several games in hand.
This game started with O.S.U.’s young and energetic squad on the front foot. They quickly capitalized on their pressure, scoring the opener through their pacey striker. Yet, WW-Homa—who had repeatedly shown resilience after conceding first throughout the season—remained composed and soon equalized. Still, O.S.U.’s relentless attacks continued, and they found a second goal before halftime to take the lead into the break.

The second half told a different story. Our Wolves-Homa shifted into an attacking gear, dominated possession, and turned the game around with two well-taken goals. Their spirited comeback secured a crucial victory.
With this win, WW-Homa officially clinched the championship ahead of schedule, even with one game in hand. After the final whistle, the players held a small celebration on the pitch, lifting their head coach, Roozbeh Manesh, onto their shoulders in gratitude.

Redemption on a Cool September Night!

By: Jahleel B., Team Manager
Game played: Thursday, September 4th, 2025
After a tough 4–2 loss to O.S.U. just days earlier, the Wolves were given a rare chance for redemption—and they made it count.
Fueled by call-ups from our Wolves MR3’s Diego G. and MR4-Albania’s Q.V., our Wolves came ready to pounce. Despite going down early to a cheeky free kick goal by O.S.U., we stayed in the game, chasing relentlessly.
Late in the match, our Anand B. delivered a moment of brilliance, curling in a stunning free kick to level the score. Then, with just two minutes on the clock, Jahleel B. rose to the occasion, finishing off a corner to complete the comeback and secure our win!

Let’s make some noise for our ‘Player of the Game‘, Jahleel, who came through in the clutch, scoring the winning goal!

MOT4
Arrivederci, MOT4 — It was a BLAST!

By: Domenico P., Team Keeper
Game played: Friday, September 5th, 2025

On a windy Friday evening, our Westboro Wolves bid farewell to MOT4 closing out what had been a highly successful season. Many of us expected a straightforward match but this game proved to be a tougher challenge than anticipated. Emotions or nerves may have overcome our team as it was set to play its last match in MOT4. Our own defender John M. bravely stood on the backline despite not feeling 100% but thanks to some encouragement from his teammates and a can of ginger ale (compliments of Dom P.), he was a key contributor in this match. With the blow of the whistle, the Wolves started applying rather timid pressure, emotions were not in check and at times not reflective of the team that played so well all season. It appeared a bit of fear overtook the squad. Like a schoolboy running into the school bully, some irrational behaviour was taking over, fortunately team Manager, Charles V. stepped in
mid-way to calm and refocus and not let the opposing team’s ‘school bully’ have his way.
The first half saw a number of scoring opportunities, but unfortunately the Wolves could not beat the opposing goalkeeper who was playing a great game. The Wolves even faced a penalty shot and fortunately the penalty kick hit the crossbar and both sides took to the bench tied at nil. As our Wolves walked over to the bench, there was talk of strategy and tactics, however a rather direct rant by our Wolves goalkeeper dispelled the notion of tactics, but rather a poor display of football resulting from fear and that the teamwork and support we have known since week one was forgotten and that the
second half should reflect the play of the season. The halftime speech was viewed by many as reminiscent of trainer Mickey’s impassioned rants to Rocky Balboa in the corner of the boxing ring. Whether it was frustration, motivation, or a bit of both, it struck a chord. Regardless, the team regrouped, and what followed was a very different second half — one marked by focus and unity.
Our Wolves were dominating all parts of the match from passing to tackles to shots on goal. Finally mid-way through the second half, our Wolves break the impasse with a beautiful goal that started from the
defense and into the net. It was all the Wolves would need to win this game and the league promotion next season into MOT3! A season that saw the Wolves win all their matches with the exception of a tie and only allowing 6 goals. A true team effort from day one!
FORZA WOLVES!

The post-match celebrations were as lively as the season itself. The champagne came out, and in true Wolves fashion, even that turned into a spectacle. Our Frank M., aka ‘Slippy’, was tasked with the one job of popping the cork, lost control of the bottle — not once, but twice — dousing Tony Z. and anyone unfortunate enough to be in the line of fire. There was dancing, there was food, but most importantly, there was camaraderie — the true backbone of the Wolves’ success. As we look ahead with hopes of repeating this season’s triumph, for now, we’re simply enjoying the ride that was the 2025 season.

Wolves MOT4 defender and champion, Domenico Mafrici.

Wolves MOT4 striker and fellow champion, Oscar Arrieta.

Dom led the team and earned ‘Golden Glove‘ honours, playing a key role in our combined 8 shutouts this season and for both his on-pitch and off-pitch
contributions. (Dom adds…’such
success is the result of a great group of players that play in front of the goalkeeper!’)
