A Win’s a Win — and This One Defined It!

By: Jahleel B., Team Manager
Game played: Monday, August 4th, 2025
In a tight, hard-fought match, our determination didn’t waver. Our Wolves stuck to our game plan, displayed composure under pressure, and were rewarded — not just with a result, but with the reassurance that our approach is working in this SHUT-OUT, or we should we say, SHOUT-OUT victory. Despite tough field conditions, blazing heat, and formidable opponents, our Wolves dug deep and pulled through with a gritty performance.
It wasn’t pretty, but we’ll take it. A win’s a win. On to the next one! 🐺⚽

Yet again, it was Mark ‘the Gentle Giant’ Oueis, proud father of three, who stepped up and netted our only goal of the match. Mark has consistently delivered crucial goals for us and he was once again awarded our ‘Player of the Game‘ honours.

Escape from the Shock! ⚡️

By: Omid M., Team Manager
Game played: Monday, August 4th, 2025
In Week 11 (Game 9) of our 2025 OCSL MR2 League play, our Wolves-Homa hosted the Arnprior Spurs on our home field.
Both teams started the match cautiously and with solid structure. However, Arnprior showed more offensive intent early on, creating several attacks that indicated their eagerness to score. On the other end, our Wolves-Homa, were caught off guard, focused on defending that helped withstand the pressure. As the first half progressed, the game gradually became more balanced and ultimately ended in a 0–0 draw.
At the start of the second half, Wolves-Homa began attacking down the flanks following our coach’s instructions. But against the run of play, we conceded a goal from a set piece. This served as another wake-up call for Wolves-Homa, whose players responded with greater determination. We managed to turn the game around with goals from Hossein Zein Aghaji and Mohammad Dehghan—marking yet another comeback win for our team this season.

Holding down FIRST PLACE! Long live our Wolves!

At the end of the match, Hossein Zein Aghaji, who had tormented the opposition defense with his dribbling and scored the team’s first goal, was named ‘Player of the Game‘.

A Frustrating Draw — But We’re Still on Top!

By: Antonino Z., Team Manager
Game played: Wednesday, August 6th, 2025
The headline above may come off as a bit misleading, considering we still hold first place in our division. However, the frustration comes not from the result alone, but from knowing we’re capable of more. The start of our game couldn’t have gone better—we struck twice, beautifully, within the first ten minutes. We were in control, reading their long-ball play and countering it with composure for most of the first half.
Now, whether the so-called PK Fitzroy were awarded was deserved is debatable. But when a referee is that noticeable with biased and inconsistent calls, it’s tough to expect a fair outcome. That call gave them a boost—and we got a little too comfortable. Instead of pressing and chasing everything down, we started reacting late. We went from dictating the tempo to chasing the game.
At the half, a chat and some words of encouragement helped us refocus. We came out with renewed energy, kept pushing, and kept creating chances. It just wasn’t falling for us. They collapsed hard, packed their back line, and threw everything at us in their box. I lost count of how many times the ball ping-ponged off the crossbar, their defenders, or landed just out of reach. What came easy a few games ago seems to be slipping away—but not for a lack of heart or effort. We bent but did not break!
That’s why this result—though frustrating—only fuels what we need to do now: dig in and work harder for these final three games. And I know we can do this!

Our goal scorers were Anthony Casimiro and Carlo Zito, each adding to their impressive tally and extending their lead at the top of the division scoring charts.
Big thanks to Q.V. and James Gyte for stepping in tonight — it was great having you back with the Pack! Your energy and effort made a difference, and we appreciated you being out there battling with us. And to Kevin Pereira and Jahbaar Thompson for the game’s beverages.

Our ‘Player of the Game‘ Angel, was an absolute force on the backline.
Playing nearly the entire match, he chased down their long balls relentlessly and made some brilliant, clutch clearances under pressure. His composure and work rate kept us in the game when things got tight.

We still maintain the top spot in our division, which is a testament to the team’s consistency and hard work so far. But we know the job’s not done yet — there’s still work to do, and every match counts as we push to finish the season in first place.

Wolves-Homa Get Creative!

By: Nima H., Team Manager
Game played: Tuesday, August 5th, 2025
In Week 11 of the OCSL, our Wolves-Homa MR4 put in a strong attacking performance despite missing several key players through injury. From the start, Wolves-Homa controlled possession, pressed high, and created plenty of chances, keeping the opposition pinned back for most of the match.
Midway through the second half, and against the run of play, the opposition took the lead when the ball deflected off a Wolves-Homa defender and ended up in the net. Apart from that goal, our Wolves-Homa’s defense stayed solid, not allowing any clear-cut chances, while the forwards continued to push for an equalizer which finally came late in this game.
The final score didn’t reflect our Wolves-Homa’s dominance. Our team displayed discipline, creativity, and determination in securing a point from this match.

Amir Momenpour was named our ‘Player of the Game‘ for his outstanding performance.

Our Wolves Counter Adversity!

By: Salvador H. C., Team Assistant Manager
Game played: Friday, August 8th, 2025

On Friday, August 8, your OT5 Westboro Wolves faced the Ottawa Bears on our home field at Ben Franklin. Despite summer holidays and a growing injury list, our Wolves OT5 showed resilience and determination in a hard-fought draw against the Ottawa Bears. With a short bench, we were fortunate to have MOT4’s Tony Z. and Oscar A. step up and support the squad—thank you both!
The match was evenly balanced from the outset, with both sides battling for control of possession and trading scoring chances. Goalkeepers on both ends made impressive saves to keep things tight. Around the 15th minute, the Bears capitalized on a quick counterattack to take a 1-0 lead. Our Wolves responded with renewed energy and ball control. Tensions rose after the first water break when a Bears player received a straight red card for violent behaviour towards our striker, Ada K.— an unacceptable act that left the Bears a man down.
Despite several solid scoring opportunities, the Wolves couldn’t find the back of the net in the first half and went into the break trailing 1-0.The second half had pretty much the same pace. Our Wolves controlled the possession of the ball while the Bears were holding their lines, waiting for another fastbreak. Thankfully, our keeper, Bryan L. kept any danger at bay.
The breakthrough finally came around the 20th minute of the second half. A beautiful team play orchestrated by Mahdi H. and Helio A. was finished clinically by Qemail V., leveling the score at 1-1. With 20+ minutes remaining, our Wolves pushed hard for a winner, but it wasn’t to be. Despite the heat and adversity, every player gave their all, and the 1-1 draw felt like a fair result.
Next up, the Wolves travel to Kanata to face Legends United on their home turf. Let’s carry this momentum forward—Forza Wolves! 🐺⚽

Family is everything!

Ready for flag duty!

We had some fun editing our ‘Players of the Game‘ photo. Seen here are Qemail V. and Kevin M. wearing the traditional Albanian ‘Fustanella‘.

On the RISE!

By: Adam Black, Team Player
Game played: Friday, August 8th, 2025
Last Friday represented the next big challenge for the OT6 Wolves as they squared off against the recently crowned division leaders in OISC. Having already faced OISC once before and lost, our Wolves knew this game would once again require an ‘all-hands on deck’ effort.
The game play was fierce and led by strong midfield play and a particularly solid shutdown performance from Tim ‘Tugger’ Ralph as he completely neutralized the opposition’s main offensive weapon. Also leading the way was stand-in keeper, Lorenzo Valenzuela, who was fresh off his suspension and, based on the game’s performance, was suspected to have been serving time for ‘goal theft.’
Scoring in this game were Jay ‘Doc’ Leclair, ‘Pistol’ Pete Stewart, and Scott ‘the Jackhammer’ Gray, each contributing significantly in the win. This victory vaulted us into first place. Well done lads!

And what better way to celebrate the victory than honouring local farmers with a good old-fashioned corn roast, graciously provided by stalwart defender, Russ ‘Rack ‘em Up’ Arthurs!
Let the good times roll…

These 2 players were our ‘Players of the Game‘, helping the Wolves secure our victory.
