Second Game, Second Victory!

Game played: June 2, 2025
Our Wolves-Homa MR2 secured their first away win in Week 3 of the OCSL play, defeating the Arnprior Spurs with a convincing scoreline. It’s worth noting that the start of the our competition was delayed due to the holidays.
In the first half, our Wolves-Home dominated possession and control of the game, heading into the break with a 3–0 lead. Mohammad Dehghan scored twice, and Vahid Nosrat added another goal.
At the start of the second half, the Spurs attempted to shift the momentum and managed to score a goal. However, Wolves-Homa quickly regained control, with Amirhossein Amanzadeh scoring the team’s fourth goal to restore their comfortable lead.
One of the key moments of the match came in the final minutes when our Wolves-Homa’s goalkeeper, Kasra Davaatgar, was sent off. After rushing out of the box to stop a counterattack and diving to intercept the ball, he lost his footing on the wet grass and slid outside the penalty area while still holding the ball. The referee called a handball. This was an unfortunate call but we understood and accepted the consequences.
Soon after, the final whistle blew, signaling the end of the match, and we celebrated our merited victory.

Mohammad Dehghan was named our ‘Player of the Game‘.
With 2 goals — one of them a stunning strike — and an assist, Mohammad’s outstanding performance earned him this privileged honour!

Wolves MR3 Tenacity Ensures Victory!

It felt like a war out there.
At one point, glancing over at our visitor’s bench, the scene looked very much like a sickbay. Many of our players were nursing injuries or some hard knocks. There were plenty of ice packs and stories to share after this battle.
But we locked it down as our opponents applied some late game pressure, looking for the equalizer. We were determined to get the well-earned ‘W’!
Our Wolves laureate Carlo Zito’s once again provided us with an inspirational pre-game poem…
A scorcher ahead, but we’re built for the heat. We bring fire, no chance of defeat. Remember the pain, now channel the flame, our drive home depends on winning this game. Villains or heroes, we define this team. Every pass, every shot, with purpose and pride. Step forward together, with nothing to hide. Make this the night we set the tone right, raise your voices, I’m leading the chant tonight! (And Carlo backed up his words by netting his first goal of this young season).

The Boys of Summer…Jameson Bevington, Joseph Catanzariti, Kevin Ridgway, Matteo Zito, Michael Maguire, Ian Alexander, Carlo Z., and Anthony Weber.

Our ‘Player of the Game’, Alonso, turned back the clock for his MVP-worthy performance. Alonso scored a brace, none prettier then the finish on a skillful back heal pass from Anthony Casimiro. That was one for the highlight reel plus it happened to be the winning goal!
Bravo muchacho.

Props to our only two remaining Center Backs, Dylan Tessier and Michael Maguire, who played heavy minutes and saw this game to the final whistle. We are grateful!

We’re thrilled to report that our latest match was a resounding success, with our team securing a thrilling 7-3 win over the Ottawa Internationals Jaguars. Our Wolves’ Lenti stole the show scoring an impressive four goals, while Andi contributed one goal and several assists. Q.V. and Ylber each added a goal to our tally, rounding out our team’s impressive performance.
Our Wolves-Albania’s cohesion and strategy were on full display, with each player working together seamlessly to outmaneuver our opponents. Lenti’s four goals were a highlight of the match, demonstrating his skill and precision on the field. Andi’s performance was also noteworthy, not only scoring a goal but providing several key assists that showcased his exceptional vision and passing ability.
Erblin, playing on the wing, was instrumental in our attack, using his pace and skill to create scoring opportunities. Our midfielders controlled the tempo of the game, while our defenders held strong, limiting our opponents’ scoring opportunities.
Our keeper, made some crucial saves, keeping our opponents’ score in check and allowing us to maintain our lead. His saves were a testament to his focus and expertise between the posts.
This impressive win marks our second victory in as many games, setting a promising tone for our ongoing campaign. We’re building momentum, and our fans are eagerly anticipating our next match. With our current form, the possibilities seem endless.

Our Westboro Wolves MR4 Secure a Gritty Victory!

It was a true test of our determination, and the team delivered!
The game started out slow, but we quickly found our rhythm and started to build momentum. Our persistence paid off right before halftime when Tapiwa Mukova sent in a beautiful ball from a corner kick. The cross found Jonathan Zitter, who delivered a top-tier finish, putting us in the lead with a crucial goal just before the break!
The Hornets came out strong in the second half and managed to equalize early. But we weren’t discouraged. The pressure was on, and that’s when Patrick Gaskell stepped up. He unleashed an absolute screamer of a free kick that flew into the back of the Hornet’s net, reclaiming our lead!
From there, our defense locked it down. We stayed organized and battled hard to close out the game, securing an inspiring 2-1 win. It was a solid performance and display of our resilience and ability to get the job done.
This was an important win for the squad, and we’re already looking forward to keeping this momentum going in Week 4!

Narrow Defeat is a Learning Experience!

By: Omid M., Team Operations Manager
Game played: June 3, 2025
In the third week of our OCSL schedule, our Wolves-Homa MR4, despite a relatively decent performance, was unable to secure its first away win.
The first half featured a balanced contest between the two sides; both teams created several scoring opportunities, but neither managed to find the back of the net. The poor condition of the pitch prevented our Wolves-Homa from executing our usual possession-based style of play effectively, forcing us to adjust our in-game tactics.
In the second half, the Wolves-Homa conceded a goal due to a momentary lapse. Despite creating a few dangerous chances, our efforts to equalize were unsuccessful, and the game ended with a loss.
Next week, we face another Falcons squad. We will strive to get into the win column!

Poor Air Quality Continues to Blanket Ottawa Region!

There was a special air quality statement that was issued for eastern Ontario and western Quebec last Thursday that still remained in effect, with a moderate and high health risk. By 4 p.m. Friday, the capital’s air quality was rated a 10+ or ‘Very High Risk‘ after a slight improvement earlier in the day.
Smoke from wildfires in western Canada continued to blanket all of Ontario, western New York State, and most of Quebec. After three days of discussion, and with Ontario Soccer’s input, the OCSL decided it was best to cancel all of the earlier OT and Masters OT matches but kept the later games, as scheduled, because of the improved AQI.
Our Wolves OT5 and MOT4 games will be rescheduled. Our Wolves OT6 did play and they came away with a dominant victory! (See below)

OT6
A Dominant Performance!

By: Adam Black, Team Player
Game played: June 6, 2025
It was indeed a dominant, 5-0 victory for our Wolves OT6, as we played under the bright, ‘smoky’ Friday night lights at the Richmond Lions Park. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and our Wolves clearly ignored the ‘Surgeon General’s’ health warnings as they ‘lit up’ the opposition early and decisively.
The Wolves jumped ahead 2-0 during the first 10-minutes of the match. This included a fabulous goal where the aforementioned, Liam “the Duke” Smithies capitalized on a set play throw-in which had been drafted up pre-game by team brain trust, Jay ‘Doc’ Leclair and ‘Blackie’ Adam Black.
With flashes of brilliance out of the back from the team’s lone senior citizen, Nico ‘Chappy’ Valenzuela, the Wolves continued their outstanding play right until the game’s final whistle. We were led by a 4-goal performance from our striker, Liam Smithies, 1 goal by ‘Doc’ Leclair, and a clean sheet courtesy of our keeper, Francis Breault.
The win puts the OT6 Wolves at 2-0 on the season and we’ll look to keep the streak alive in their next game against the visiting Ottawa Bears.

Backed by a stellar goalkeeping performance from Francis, our ‘Player of the Game’.
